WHAT IS NEUROFEEDBACK?

Neurofeedback is direct training of brain function by which our brain learns to be more efficient.

The brain is capable of making adjustments to improve its own performance if given cues about what to change. When the brain is regulating itself well and is alert and attentive, brainwaves (EEG) show particular patterns. We challenge the brain to maintain this “high-performance” alert and active state. Gradually, after 20 or more training sessions, the brain learns to stay at this high-performance state for longer periods of time and to retain these new skills.

We do this by observing the brain in action from moment to moment and showing that information back to the brain-almost like holding a mirror in front of you.

And we reward the brain for changing its own activity to more appropriate patterns and waves.

WHAT IS IT FOR?

Various illnesses

While medication and behavioral interventions are always important neurofeedback can help with issues like headaches, attention deficit disorders, PMS  and sleep disturbances.

STRESS & ANXIETY

Anxiety is a common response to stress, and sufferers often feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and fatigued. Neurofeedback can help guide your brain to change how it responds to stimuli that disturb our physical or mental equilibrium.

PEAK PERFORMANCE

Concentration, focus and emotional control are key to achieving optimal performance in all fields. Athletes and business executives are taking advantage of neurofeedback technologies to learn how to utilize the full potential of their minds to reach their peak.

Wear and tear on the brain’s ability to cope with stressful situations can cause resistance to change, inflexibility and impulsive reactions. When we feel that the world is changing around us or that our abilities have decreased over time, is there anything you can do? No matter at what level you begin, neurofeedback can help you optimize your function. At our Neurofeedback Atlanta center our doctor provides a diversity of education and experience that is unmatched. We offer the well proven and extremely efficient Ohmer neurofeedback method.
