My Journey

MY JOURNEY

I have spent the last several years in the field of internal medicine, working as a physician in acute care settings like hospitals. Through this experience, I have seen firsthand the devastating effects of diseases, as well as how traditional medicine tends to treat them. There are incredible, cutting-edge interventions for acute illness and injury; however, in my opinion, we are not very well equipped as a field to manage chronic or long-duration diseases like cancer, autoimmune disorders, and heart problems, just to name a few.

For these chronic ailments, we tend to rely too heavily on prescriptions and medications, but these are often not enough. And sometimes they can do more harm than good if there are adverse reactions. I have also witnessed the effects of stress on health, and how detrimental the lack of proper nutrition and exercise is to wellness.

The healing process is a journey, and I am so excited to take this journey alongside my patients, and offer them my expertise, knowledge, inspiration, and support along the way.

ABOUT DR. NEACSU

Dr. Dana Neacsu is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

She is a recipient of The Joseph Caltabiano Award for Professionalism in Medicine.

Early in her career, Dr. Neacsu was a teaching associate and instructed students from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Later, she was an instructor within the medicine clinical track at the Emory University School of Medicine, teaching physicians’ assistants. She then worked at some of the major hospitals in the Atlanta area as a specialist in internal medicine.

Compelled to learn more about integrative medicine, Dr. Neacsu was accepted into the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine Fellowship, one of the oldest and most respected programs of its nature in the country, founded and taught by Dr. Andrew Weil . After graduating from this 1000-hour program, she completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice® course from the Institute for Functional Medicine. In addition, Dr. Neacsu has specialty training in Reiki and certain stress-reduction techniques.

Dr. Neacsu is one of the few practitioners in Atlanta who completed the Kalish Institute Advanced Functional Medicine course and she is currently using his treatment protocol for treating various conditions including adrenal fatigue. In May 2016 a research study published by two Mayo Clinic researchers confirmed the efficacy of the Kalish Method showing significant improvements in GI health and quality of life in the study participants. The study was based on Dr. Kalish’s model of Functional Medicine based on 25 years of successful clinical results.

In 2016, Dr. Neacsu opened her own practice in Atlanta, Medical Creations Integrative Medicine in order to better treat patients’ root medical issues instead of just focusing on their symptoms. She also collaborates with the local hospitals and teaches wellness workshops.

She believes that by integrating elements of healing, therapy, wellness, nutrition, stress reduction, and other practices, that patients will start to see real, lasting results and improvements to their health.

She is also part of the advisory board for the Feel beautiful today – a nonprofit organization supporting cancer patient healing process through art.

In her free time, Dr. Neacsu enjoys spending time with her daughter, adorable little dog, and friends. She loves learning new things, which has lately included dance lessons, and traveling.
