Prior to becoming a Reiki practitioner Gabriela worked as an accountant for many years, a field completely different from the Reiki world but she has been always drawn to healthy lifestyle and natural approaches to any illness. When she started working with our office as an assistant she had the chance to learn more about integrative medicine and to pursue her interest in Reiki.
She studied Reiki with Reiki Master Teacher Michal Spiegelman and she has been practicing successfully on our patients, family, friends, and pets!
What is Reiki? Reiki is a healing technique that was developed in Japan in early last century. It’s practiced by placing your hands on the body and anyone, young and old can use it. Reiki is safe – there has been no reported negative effects of Reiki treatment.
Reiki has been used for years to reduce stress and achieve body and mind relaxation, reduce pain, anxiety, reduce side effect of medications and support recovery after injuries or surgery. Some research suggests that stress reduction may help people manage symptoms of conditions such as: anxiety, depression, pain, sleep problems and high blood pressure.
